Jessi Lane, RVT KPA-CTP, FDM
Owner and Head Trainer

About
Jessi began her career in veterinary medicine in 2007, working in both emergency and day practice facilities. She graduated from Oklahoma State University–OKC in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology and is a nationally and state-licensed Registered Veterinary Technician.

Her work in veterinary medicine sparked a deep interest in both human and animal behavior. Seeing how anxious and fearful some patients could be, Jessi wanted to find ways to reduce that stress and strengthen the bond between people and their dogs. She quickly realized that prevention and education are key to addressing unwanted behaviors before they start.

In 2011, Jessi began teaching Puppy Pre-K and Basic Obedience classes. She continued advancing her education by graduating as a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Academy in 2014 and founded ROC Animal Training and Behavior the following year.

Jessi’s passion is helping people build stronger, happier relationships with their dogs. She is a proud member of the Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians, the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is also a Certified Family Dog Mediator, AKC Canine Good Citizen and ATT Evaluator, Fetch Judge, and Certified Trick Dog Instructor with Do More With Your Dog. Additionally, she has completed the Master Course in Aggression in Dogs by Michael Shikashio and regularly attends continuing education courses, seminars, and conferences to expand her knowledge.

Outside of training, Jessi is a busy mom of three who understands the challenges of balancing family life, work, and dog training. She competes in multiple dog sports, with several of her dogs earning national invitations and top rankings year after year. Her current pack includes Chaos (Australian Shepherd), Spryte and Riot (Australian Cattle Dogs), and Nyx (Doberman).

When she’s not working with dogs, you’ll find Jessi outdoors with her family—her husband Jordan, son Jackson, daughter Cheyenne, and stepdaughter Izzy—enjoying nature and new adventures together.

Why “ROC Animal Training”?
ROC stands for “Right On Click”—a nod to Jessi’s love of clicker training and her belief that training should be both fun and effective for dogs and their people.

The name also honors Jett Roc, Jessi’s soul dog, who was by her side from the very beginning and attended the Karen Pryor Academy with her. Jett embodied enthusiasm, trust, and perseverance—values that continue to shape Jessi’s training philosophy today. He passed away in January 2021, leaving behind an incredible legacy.

In 2017, Colt joined the family and continued that legacy until his passing in August 2024 due to DCM.

Partner Trainer

About
Annie is a trainer with ROC Animal Training and she is a Certified Puppy Start Right Instructor, Certified Family Dog Mediator and Certified Professional Dog Trainer. Annie is our resident puppy expert and loves helping clients to set their puppies up for success. Annie’s interest in training started with her rescue dog Valkyrie. Seeing how her dog navigated the world prompted her to dive into the world of dog training and behavior through books, classes, and seminars.
Annie has Zvezda, a standard poodle, and 2 cats- Beerus, a sphynx, and Nisaba, a domestic shorthair, all of which she enjoys training.
She loves competing with her dog in different dog sports. Her favorite aspect of dog training is how defining boundaries and teaching behaviors can allow dogs to communicate with us. She has a particular interest in how focus, calmness, and drive in dogs impacts their learning processes and finding ways to help improve weaker areas.
